This morning on my 45 minute commute to school I was browsing my iPod to see what could keep me occupied and make the drive not seem like 45 minutes. I notice I have a new episode of Inside the Net that I have yet to listen to. To my surprise the episode was focused on Newsvine! I have only been a member of Newsvine for a few days now and was very intrigued to hear what was to be said and needless to say I got so involved in the Podcast that before I knew it I was miles from school.

Up until this morning I was still trying to grasp exactly what Newsvine is. Is it Digg? Nooooo, I'm seeing too many articles from AP (not to mention correct grammar ;)) for this to be like Digg. Well then is it News.com? Nope, not that either. It was when I heard CEO Mike Davidson describe Newsvine as "...a place to read, write and influence the news."

At that point in time I fully realized what it was I had signed up for and the possible revolution it will lead.

I suggest anyone interested to listen to this interview or share it with someone who just doesn't quite get Newsvine; it will put it all into perspective.

I don't think there has been a much better interview from someone in the position that Mike Davidsone was in for a very long time. Mike did a wonderful job and really hit the nail on the head with many small statements, not just the catchphrase.

I agree with you also that the show is one to share with people who aren't quite understanding of Newsvine yet; it should help them grasp it easier.

I had never heard of Newsvine until this podcast. Then I got Amber to send me an invite. Now I am hooked. Newsvine is like my own personal "Situation Room" I see the news as it happens. I love it. Inside the Net is one of the finest podcasts available.

I signed up because of the Inside the Net podcast as well. Amber was kind of enough to send me an invite and I've enjoyed the site ever since then!

You were browsing your iPod while driving? Isn't that... uh... kind of dangerous? Hell, I hit next on mine while walking and I cause an 8 car pile up.
